Fire hose illegally driven over during scene call in Wembley
On Sunday, Oct. 19, firefighters in Wembley responded to reports of an outbuilding fire at 6:35 a.m.
The blaze was in a shed near the football field in the community. The fire was brought under control within an hour and is now under investigation.
The Wembley Fire Department wants to make the public aware that running over fire hoses is against the law and can result in a fine of up to $1,000 if someone is a repeat offender.
In this instance, a vehicle passing by the active scene was driven over hoses crews were using to extinguish the blaze. RCMP tried to stop the vehicle but the pursuit was called off as the vehicle was travelling over 200 km/h.
