Northwestern Polytechnic presents 2025 Community & Alumni Award at 38th Annual President’s Ball

Northwestern Polytechnic celebrated some outstanding members of its alumni and community at its 38th Annual President’s Ball, held Oct. 18.

Three individuals were presented with the 2025 Community and Alumni Awards:

Warren Murray received the Board of Governors Award of Honour for his lifetime commitment to mentorship, community service and the advancement of skilled trades.

Sheila Moerkoert was awarded the Indigenous Community Impact Award for leadership in student support, cultural advocacy and youth outreach.

Kim Gravengard received the Alumni Leadership Award for her continued leadership in sport, education, and community development throughout the Peace Region.

NWP’s Community and Alumni Awards recognize individuals whose work continues to make a difference within NWP and throughout the region.

“This year’s recipients remind us of the powerful impact that education and service can have across generations,” said Vanessa Sheane, President and CEO of Northwestern Polytechnic. “Their stories are inspiring examples of leadership in action – grounded in mentorship, advocacy, and a deep commitment to community.”
