STARS Grande Prairie Gala raises $240k

Oct 27, 2025 | 1:30 PM

A gala event held at the Tara Centre Saturday raised $240,000 for STARS.

The STARS Among Us Gala celebrated the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service’s 40th anniversary with an evening of food, prizes and entertainment from the GP Jazz Quartet, all while raising funds for their life saving work.

“On behalf of everyone at STARS, we are deeply grateful for the generous support and involvement from our partners in the Grande Prairie community,” said Dr. John Froh, president and CEO of STARS. “To see the excitement in the room and support of this community is simply incredible. I am leaving STARS Among Us with a sincere appreciation for everyone here tonight, who help ensure we can fuel STARS missions, and be there for the next patient in need.”

Earlier this month, Grande Prairie STARS held an open house event to teach residents more about how they operate in Northern Alberta and Western Canada.
