Wanted man arrested in Cadotte Lake area

Being under a mattress didn’t help much for a Peace River man wanted on warrants hiding from police inside a home.

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, Mounties with the Peace Regional detachment responded to a sighting of a wanted man, 35-year-old Frank Ross Whitehead, in the Cadotte Lake area.

RCMP, along with Police Dog Services, searched the general vicinity and narrowed it down to a residence.

A warrant was obtained to enter the home, and Whitehead was found hiding under a bed.

Whitehead was arrested for the following charges out of High Prairie:

• Carrying a concealed weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a weapon contrary to order (X3)

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into police custody. He was in Peace River court on Monday, Oct. 27.
