County of Grande Prairie Council approves policy updates to boost nurse recruitment and retention

The newly elected County of Grande Prairie Council has approved a policy to boost nurse practitioner recruitment and retention.

At their first meeting since being sworn in this week, council approved Policy M13—Physician Recruitment and Retention as presented.

The updated policy expands eligibility to include nurse practitioners in independent practices for a signing bonus of $10,000 within the County of Grande Prairie or $5,000 within the City.

During the meeting, council also approved updates to their Information Request, Outstanding Receivables, and Youth Ambassador policies.
