Arrest made & drugs seized in ongoing trafficking investigation

An ongoing Grande Prairie RCMP drug trafficking investigation led to an arrest and an illegal drug seizure.

In September, the city’s Municipal Drug Unit “identified a suspect,” which led to a pair of search warrants being executed at properties in Grande Prairie.

With help from Grande Prairie Police Services, Mounties seized:

• 1.7 kg of cocaine
• 1.5 kg of methamphetamine
• 24 grams of fentanyl
• One prohibited firearm
• Over $50,000.00 in Canadian Currency
• Drug trafficking paraphernalia
• 2022 Dodge Ram as an instrument of crime

A suspect is in custody on four counts, with a court date set for November 17. RCMP say they will remain nameless, as the investigation continues.
