Nov 3, 2025 | 1:45 PM

The newly elected Municipal District of Greenview council has chosen their Reeve and Deputy Reeve.

Ward 2 Councillor Ryan Ratzlaff was elected as the new reeve during council’s first post-election meeting Oct. 28, with Ward 6 councillor Tom Burton returning as deputy reeve.

Ratzlaff is entering his second term representing Ward 2 and has years of leadership and public speaking skills developed from his participation in local youth and community programs.

“It’s a true honour to be elected reeve and to have the opportunity to serve the residents of Greenview,” said Reeve Ryan Ratzlaff. “This region has shaped who I am, and I’m deeply committed to working together with council, administration, and our communities to continue building a strong, sustainable future for everyone who calls Greenview home.”

Meantime, this is Burton’s seventh term as the councillor for Debolt and his second as deputy reeve, and he brings with him over two decades of experience in local government and nearly 30 sears of experience with DeBolt Fire 7 Rescue.

“It’s been an honour to serve the residents of Greenview for so many years, and I’m proud to continue working alongside council and our communities to move this region forward,” said Deputy Reeve Tom Burton. “Greenview is built on hard work, collaboration, and resilience, and I’m committed to ensuring those values guide every decision we make.”

Greenview council holds an organizational meeting each year to choose a reeve and make various committee appointments.
