Odyssey House organizing events for Family Violence Prevention Month

Local non-profit Odyssey House is recognizing Family Violence Prevention Month with several events taking place in Grande Prairie.

Every November is recognized by the Province of Alberta as Family Violence Prevention Month to raise awareness about family violence and promote healthier, safer relationships.

Odyssey House began it’s support of the annual campaign with a Proclamation Day at the Prairie Mall Shopping Center today, featuring speeches from Mayor Jackie Clayton and Reeve Amanda McDonald.

On Friday, Odyssey House will be holding a ribbon tying event along 100 Avenue, tying purple ribbons, the official colour of Family Violence Prevention Month to show violence survivors that they are not alone.
