City of Grande Prairie first municipality to reach 200 FireSmart Home Assessment participants in FRIAA history

The City of Grande Prairie is congratulating its residents for earning high praise from the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta.

Over 200 residents participated in the 2025 FireSmart Home Assessment program, the first municipality in FRIAA’s history to complete that many assessments in a single fire season.

The city is thanking the residents who chose to have their properties assessed and the Home Ignition Specialists for making it possible.

The program ran in the city from May to October 2025 to help reduce the risk of wildfire damage to properties and enhance community resilience.
