Nov 16, 2025 | 12:26 AM

UDPATE: Red Earth Creek RCMP have lifted the shelter in place order for residents in that community as of 7:00 a.m. November 16, 2025. Police believe all suspects have left the area, but Mounties are asking the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to 911.

On Saturday November 15, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., RCMP were notified of an armed robbery taking lace at a business on Blue Sky Road where multiple firearms were stolen and a civilian was shot at.  Mounties were unable to locate the suspects or the suspect vehicle.

At 8:15 p.m., officers located the suspect vehicle and three individuals inside 3.5 km north of Peerless Trout First Nation on Highway 686, when the suspects fled. RCMP set up containment and called in resources to assist in searching for the suspects. At 6:30 a.m., search efforts determined the three suspects were no longer in the area.

Mounties say they continue to search for those responsible, as they are considered armed and dangerous. Do NOT approach them if you encounter them and call 911 immediately.

PREVIOUS:

Mounties in Red Earth Creek have issued a shelter in place order for the community as of 9:45 p.m. on November 15, 2025.

This is due to an incident that took place earlier in the day at approximately 12:30 p.m. where unknown suspects committed a robbery where several firearms were stolen. Police were not able to locate the suspects after they had fled the scene.

At 6:00 p.m., RCMP got reports of several sighting of the suspect vehicle and at 8:15 p.m. Mounties were able to locate said vehicle and three suspects 3.5 km north of Peerless Lake First Nation. The suspects were seen using a jerry can to gas up the truck and when police arrived they fled into the woods. It is believed they took the firearms with them.

Police are asking people in this area to stay inside your home, lock up, and do not answer your door. If you see anything suspicious, call 9-1-1. RCMP also ask to refrain from posting officers responding to the matter on social media.

They are asking the public to remain vigilant and say Alberta RCMP are working tirelessly to locate the suspects.
