Atikameg man arrested in Peace River for break and enter

Nov 25, 2025 | 12:02 PM

Peace Regional RCMP say a man that was recently released from a remand centre is back in police custody on four charges.

On Sunday morning (Nov. 23), officers in Peace River were notified of an active break and enter taking place at a business in the area of 100 Street in that community.

Mounties arrived and did not find a person inside after seeing the front door had been broken open. Footage from the business was obtained by police.

At the time officers were responding to the break and enter, they received another report of a man entering unlocked vehicles in the same vicinity.

RCMP recognized the man was the same person from the footage from the break and enter and was subsequently arrested and charged.

Atikameg resident 29-year-old Evan Darcy Alook was charged with:

  • Break and enter to a business
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Alook was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River on December 1, 2025.
