The Grande Prairie Music Society has three Christmas events this week, all at the Douglas J. Cardinal Performing Arts Centre.
- Kicking things off this Friday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m., the Grande Prairie Jazz Ensemble, an 18-piece jazz band, will be performing classics like Silver Bells, Here Comes Santa Claus, and a tribute to the music of Chuck Mangione.
- On Saturday, Nov. 29, at 7:00 p.m., the Grande Prairie Symphony and the Grande Prairie Youth Orchestra will be performing a joint concert, featuring music from Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, and various Christmas selections.
- Finally, Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m., the GP Symphonic Wind Ensemble, a 35-40-piece band, will be playing some of their best original works and orchestra music transcriptions, like Opening Night on Broadway and a British Isle Christmas.
The Music Society was formed in 2021 to continue the concerts previously offered by music ensembles at GPRC and works to maintain musicians in the community and enhance their performances.
Tickets for any of these concerts can be purchased at the door or at GPLT.ca.
