City of Grande Prairie reopens community sandbox

The City of Grande Prairie is once again offering a free source of sand to residents to keep their sidewalks and driveways safer through the winter.

The city’s free community sandbox is available for residents to bring up to two five-gallon containers, fill them with sand, and use them to improve traction around their homes.

The sandbox can be found at the City Service Centre near the south end of 112 Street.

It was created after the 2022 Snow and Ice Service Review and was inspired by resident feedback.
