Ontario, Saskatchewan win titles at Canadian Senior Curling Championships

Ontario won the women’s title, and Saskatchewan the men’s crown, at the Canadian Senior Curling Championships in Ottawa.

Sherry Middaugh’s rink beat Amber Holland’s team from Saskatchewan 7-5 in the women’s final.

Bruce Korte’s team from Saskatchewan won the men’s final, 8-4, over Ontario’s Mike Harris.

Alberta’s women’s team, skipped by Delia DeJong and based at the Grande Prairie Curling Centre and the Okotoks Curling Club, wound up with a record of 6-4.

The men’s team from Sherwood Park, skipped by James Pahl, wound up 3-5.

Neither Alberta team advanced to the semi-finals.

The Middaugh and Korte rinks will represent Canada at the World Senior Curling Championships April 25-May 2 in Geneva, Switzerland.
