Another 10 to 15 cm of snow expected in parts of the Peace Region

Dec 9, 2025 | 12:28 PM

UPDATE December 10: The warnings for the Peace Country have now ended.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning as it forecasts another dump of snow to fall north of Grande Prairie today (Tuesday, Dec. 9).

The heavy snow is expected to start falling tonight, starting from the B.C. border at Demmitt, straight east to High Prairie, and north to the Hawk Hills area.

Up to 20 cm has already fallen since Sunday in places around the region. Another 10-15 cm is expected tonight into Wednesday, for a total of 20 to 35 cm.

The national weather office says snowfall will taper off on Wednesday afternoon.

Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow, and visibility will likely be reduced at times. Please allow extra time for travel.

Also, take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
