Person contagious with measles reported at Fairview Medical Clinic

Dec 10, 2025 | 12:07 PM

Alberta Health Services has confirmed a person infected with measles was in a public setting in Fairview while infectious.

Individuals that visited the Fairview Medical Clinic Dec. 5 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. may have been exposed.

Anyone potentially exposed and who has had fewer than two doses of the measles vaccine may be at risk of infection and should monitor for symptoms like a fever of 38.3 degrees Celsius, a cough, and a rash.

If symptoms do develop, individuals should stay at home and call the measles hotline before visiting any healthcare provider.

Officials say pregnant individuals, children under 5, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk.
