Calgary Stampeders re-sign rushing leader Dedrick Mills to two-year extension

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed rushing leader Dedrick Mills to a two-year contract through the CFL 2027 season, the team announced Wednesday.

Mills was eligible to become a free agent on Feb. 10.

The 28-year-old from Waycross, Ga., led the league with a career-high 1,409 rushing yards in 2025 en route to earning divisional and leaguewide All-CFL honours. His 11 rushing touchdowns were also a personal best.

Mills added 114 rushing yards in Calgary’s Western semifinal loss to the B.C. Lions.

Mills has rushed for 3,593 yards and 18 touchdowns in 51 career regular-season games since joining the Stampeders in 2022.

He has added 98 catches for 847 receiving yards.

American defensive back Najee Murray returns to the Alouettes

MONTREAL — The Alouettes have signed American defensive back Najee Murray for the 2026 season.

The 31-year-old from Steubenville, Ohio, recorded 77 defensive tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions this past season. He also added two knockdowns and recovered two fumbles.

Murray joined the Alouettes in 2018.

He has 240 defensive tackles, nine interceptions and three sacks in 66 career games with the Alouettes.

Canadian veteran Adam Konar re-signs with Lions

VANCOUVER — The B.C. Lions have signed Canadian linebacker Adam Konar to a two-year extension.

Konar was eligible to become a free agent on February 10.

The 32-year-old from Vancouver joined the Lions for a second stint out of free agency before the 2025 season.

He had nine tackles across 14 regular-season games before an arm injury ended his season prematurely.

Konar has 226 defensive tackles, 53 special-teams tackles, five sacks and four interceptions over 132 career regular-season games with Edmonton, B.C., and Calgary.

Roughriders bring back Canadian running back Bertrand-Hudon

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian running back Thomas Bertrand-Hudon to a one-year contract extension.

Bertrand-Hudon has appeared in 42 career games with the Roughriders, rushing 64 times for 365 yards and four touchdowns.

He has also registered eight receptions for 50 yards, 17 kickoff returns for 413 yards, and 23 special teams tackles.

The 29-year-old from Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Que., was selected by the Roughriders in the fourth round (30th overall) of the 2023 CFL draft.

Sunderland joins Ticats front office

HAMILTON — Veteran CFL executive Brock Sunderland has joined the Tiger-Cats’ front office as senior director of player personnel.

Sunderland spent the 2025 season in the same role with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The native of Great Falls, Mont., was general manager of Edmonton from 2017-20.

He has also served as Montreal’s director of scouting and was the assistant general manager in Ottawa from 2013-16, helping the Redblacks win the Grey Cup in his final year.

Sunderland was a scout with the NFL’s New York Jets from 2007-12.
