The RCMP’s Western Alberta District’s Crime Reduction Unit has taken what they describe as “a prolific oil field property crime offender” into custody.

According to police, the suspect was featured on a Wanted Wednesday post regarding a stolen vehicle.

When Mounties located the suspect in High Level on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, they attempted to flee, but their vehicle was disabled, and they were taken into custody, along with a passenger. Police say a search of the vehicle also uncovered a loaded firearm.

Peavine Metis Settlement resident, 45-year-old Sheldon Sinclair, and 31-year-old Loon Lake resident, Caitlin Noskey, had six charges laid each:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Obstructing a police officer
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a court order

Additionally, Sinclair was brought in for three outstanding warrants.
