Dec 30, 2025 | 9:29 AM

Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning for freezing rain, as it is expected to fall today (Tuesday, Dec. 30) in the Peace Region and in the areas along Highway 43 towards Edmonton.

The national weather office says it will begin in the morning in the Peace and make its way into the areas northwest of Alberta’s capital by midday.

UPDATED: The warning spans from Sturgeon Lake, Valleyview, Fox Creek, Whitecourt and east towards the Saskatchewan border.

The freezing rain is to taper off by this evening.

Roadways and walking surfaces will most likely become icy and slippery due to the precipitation.
