The County of Grande Prairie is warning residents to be careful around outdoor ice rinks right now.

With the recent warmer weather, skating surfaces might have thawed, resulting in softer, uneven ice that can create hazards.

Anyone planning on using an outdoor rink is asked to avoid skating on surfaces that appear wet, slushy, or cracked and to stay off natural ice like ponds or rivers.
