Highway 43 reopens after multiple accidents are cleared

UPDATE:

511 Alberta is reporting that all delays along Highway 43 in the Peace region are now cleared, except the collision in Valleyview.

Crews are at the scene, and delays are expected, but the highway remains open.

Anyone travelling today is still asked to use caution and check for up-to-date road conditions using 511 Alberta.

The semi jack-knifed east of Debolt causing delays, has now been cleared by emergency crews; however, all other collisions are still causing delays.

According to 511 Alberta, a collision in Whitecourt along Highway 43, near 51 Street, has closed all lanes, and drivers are asked to find an alternate route.

Highway 43 is closed in both directions due to multiple crashes in the Peace region.

East of Debolt, near Range Road 261, a jack-knifed semi is blocking all lanes.

A collision near the Highway 43, Highway 665 intersection in Valleyview is causing delays, while Highway 43, near Township Road 672, north of Little Smoky, is closed due to another collision.

Emergency crews are responding to all these incidents and ask drivers to find alternate routes.

Anyone out travelling today should expect delays and use caution; residents can stay up to date on changing road conditions using 511 Alberta.
