Arrests made in Fort St. John home invasion

Jan 6, 2026 | 12:00 PM

Mounties in British Columbia say charges have not been approved yet for a case of a home invasion in Fort St. John.

On Dec. 30, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Fort St. John RCMP received a report of an unknown man with a handgun trying to gain access into a home in the area of Peace River Road and 111 Avenue in that city.

Frontline officers responded immediately to set up containment in that area. The suspect surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident.

A single victim was assaulted physically at the scene, and the loaded firearm was seized. It had not been discharged.

Two additional people were arrested on the scene in relation to the incident.

The suspect man remains in police custody. Although charges have not been approved in this matter, RCMP say he will likely face numerous charges in relation to firearms and assault.

The two additional individuals arrested at the scene are also being held while the investigation continues.

The Fort St. John RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information on this crime to contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100.
