Heavy police presence in County of Grande Prairie

Update on Monday, Jan. 12, at 8:50 p.m.- Grande Prairie Rural RCMP say that the police operation is over and officers have cleared the scene.

The Grande Prairie Rural RCMP would like to advise the public that a heavy police presence remains in effect for the area of 43 Avenue and 99 Street in the County of Grande Prairie this morning (Monday, Jan. 12).

The public is asked to avoid the area and refrain from posting pictures of police response to social media until the situation is resolved.  

An update will be given once more information when the area reopens.
