Two earthquakes reported near Grande Cache

Earthquakes Canada says two earthquakes were recorded in the same area northeast of Grande Cache this morning (Friday, Jan 23).

The quakes, only a few minutes apart according to EC, had a magnitude of 3.7 with a depth of 3 kms, while the other had a depth of 5 km, and was slightly stronger with a magnitude of 3.9.

EC says that both quakes are possibly industry-related, and they have yet to receive any reports of injuries or damages, and don’t expect any.

Callers to the EGP newsroom say they felt the shake in Grande Prairie’s City Centre, Sexsmith, and Dawson Creek.
