Highway 2 near Webster now clear after fatal collision

Mounties provided an update on the collision near Webster that closed down part of Highway 2 today (Tuesday, Jan. 27).

Officers say a southbound pick-up crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a northbound pick-up; this resulted in the southbound driver being declared dead at the scene after life-saving efforts, while the northbound driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

During this crash, a semi truck was also struck, but that driver had no injuries reported.

RCMP added that extreme icy conditions were reported in the area earlier and may have been a factor.
