A non-profit organization promoting Truth and Reconciliation will be visiting a Peace Region school Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Matt Cardinal and Stirling John of the Stirling John Foundation for Youth Empowerment will be attending Hythe Regional School to host an assembly for grades 5-9 that combines live music and story telling to promote resilience and cultural pride for Indigenous youth.
Stirling John is an Ojibway country music artist, a 2024 JUNO award nominee and a serving RCMP officer with 19 years of service, while Cardinal is a member of the award-winning Prairie States Music Band.
The foundation works with youth in remote and northern communities to foster positive pathways and support early prevention of justice-system involvement.
