Following an investigation by Beaverlodge RCMP, Grande Prairie General Investigations Section, Grande Prairie RCMP Forensic Identification Section, Alberta RCMP Collision Analyst and Alberta RCMP Laboratories, an arrest was made on Sunday, Feb. 1.

Twenty-one-year-old Goodfare resident, Jason Bisson had three charges laid against him:

  • Impaired driving causing death
  • Operation of a motor vehicle causing death
  • Criminal negligence causing death

A court date has been set for Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Grande Prairie.

Sgt. Matthew Short, NCO I/C of Beaverlodge RCMP and Grande Prairie Rural RCMP asked residents to “please take the time to consider alternate transportation options before going out and consuming alcohol.”

Adding, “files like these are a sad reminder of the effects impaired driving can have on families and communities.”
