Grande Prairie man arrested for stolen vehicle in Peace River

Mounties with the Peace Regional detachment say one man is in police custody following a stolen vehicle report on Monday, Feb. 2.

At approximately 8:20 a.m. officers responded to the report stemming from 99 Street in Peace River.

RCMP were able to gain access to the vehicle’s GPS system and located it. The vehicle was travelling at a very high rate of speed and nearly collided with officers on duty.

The vehicle was found near Dixonville and police followed tracks into a field where they eventually found the driver.

Grande Prairie resident, 34-year-old Tyler Wayne Roherty, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Dangerous driving
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Driving while prohibited
  • Flight from police officer
  • Failure to comply with probation order

Roherty was brought before a Justice of the Peace before being remanded into police custody. He is set to appear in Peace River court on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.
