Storm climb CJHL power rankings heading into a weekday match-up with Devon

The Grande Prairie Storm climbed three spots in this week’s Canadian Junior Hockey League top 20 power rankings.

They jumped ahead three spots from last week, now sitting at 17th, as one of only two AJHL teams included in the list; the Whitecourt Wolverines sit at 9th, up from 14th the week prior.

They now look to continue on their progress as they face the Xtreme in Devon tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 4), before a weekend home series with Calgary.

Heading into their game in Devon, the Storm, along with much of the hockey world, will be playing with heavy hearts following a fatal crash in southern Alberta, killing three junior hockey players.

In a post to social media, the Storm sent their “deepest condolences to the families, coaches, teammates, and friends grieving an unimaginable loss.”
