Eastlink Centre Lazy River reopens after six-month closure

Feb 9, 2026 | 1:30 PM

The Eastlink Centre has re-opended the Aquatics areas Lazy River after an extended closure.

Back in September, during their annual aquatic maintenance shutdown, staff found the liner for the Lazy River needed to be replaced, a job they planned on doing next year, which led to six month shut down.

As a result of the long closure, the City has decided to not schedule any programming in the Lazy River until it’s spring schedule starts Mar. 2, in favour of “unrestricted community enjoyment.”

The City thanked residents for their patience and understanding during the closure, and noted that this “important work” needed to be completed and will help “keep the facility safe, reliable and enjoyable for many years to come.”

An updated schedule with programming in the Lazy River will be shared on the City’s website, come March.
