February 10, 2026, marks Canada’s 10th annual Agriculture Day.

Federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Health MacDonald has released a statement in recognition of the day and what it means to Canadians.

Minister MacDonald says the government sees the hard work producers put in and the essential role they play in our everyday lives.

He says in 2025, Canada’s agriculture and food sector generated $150 billion towards the nation’s GDP. There was also $100 billion in exports and supported one in nine jobs across the country.

Minister MacDonald is asking all Canadians to join in on thanking the hard-working farmers this Canada’s Agriculture Day, whether it be a potato farmer in PEI, a grain producer in the Prairies, beef processor in the West, or even a poultry farmer in Quebec.
