Feb 11, 2026 | 7:24 AM

Grande Prairie is sixth on the list of cities with the lowest rents, according to the newest National Rental Report.

The report, compiled by Rentals.ca and Urbanation, says the average rent for apartments was at $1,440 in Grande Prairie in January.

Lloydminster had the lowest average rent at $1,232.

Grande Prairie’s rent prices also went up eight per cent compared to a year ago, the second-highest in the country behind Kingston, Ontario.

These numbers do not include Canada’s six biggest cities.

The average rent across Canada, a number that does include the six biggest cites, was at $2,057. That is a two per cent decrease from January last year.
