Toboggan trail leads Peace River RCMP to B&E arrests

Feb 12, 2026 | 1:04 PM

Two suspects have been arrested after a break-and-enter in Grimshaw on Feb 3.

Mounties say they responded to a B&E call from a business at 4:47 a.m., and found damage to the building, with the owner reporting multiple stolen items, “mostly tools and vehicle parts,” valued at $10,000.

Early into their investigation, Mounties noticed a trail of toboggan and shoe prints leading away from the scene to a “residence known to police.”

The next day, Feb .4, the General Investigation Section and Police Dog Services executed a warrant at that residence, and recovered all stolen items and made a pair of arrests.

A 25-year-old and 20-year-old, both of Grimshaw, had three counts of possession of property obtained by crime charges laid against them and were remanded into custody; however, the 20-year-old has since been released.

A court for the pair has been set for Feb. 23.
