West Fraser reports fourth quarter loss

Feb 13, 2026 | 6:03 AM

West Fraser says it recorded a loss of $715 million in the fourth quarter of last year.

The company reported earnings of $1.165 billion.

West Fraser says in a news release that the last three months of 2025 were what it calls “another challenging period.”

Those challenges included higher lumber duties and tariffs, oversupply of some things, including OSB and lower demand for some products.

West Fraser says that lower demand is because of what it calls “housing affordability constraints.”

The company that owns the OS plant located south of Grande Prairie had a third-quarter loss of $204 million in the third-quarter of 2025.
