Grande Prairie Comp. recognized for “forward thinking school design”
The Grande Prairie Composite High School is being recognized for its “environmentally responsible design, construction and operational practices.”
GPPSD says the school earned a Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification thanks to “sustainable site development, water conservation, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.”
Awarded by the Canada Green Building Council, the school division says it reflects its commitment to responsible construction practices, environmental stewardship, and creating facilities that support high‑quality learning.
The district’s Superintendent, Ola Oladele, said, “this isn’t just about a plaque on the wall, it’s about providing our students and staff with a healthy and inspiring space to teach and learn.”
