Accolades for Wolves volleyball players, and an opening day win for the men’s team at provincials

The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves won a very close opening match at the ACAC Men’s Volleyball Championship in Red Deer Thursday afternoon.

The Wolves stopped Briercrest College 3-2. Set scores were 24-26, 25-19, 25-20, 26-28 and 16-14.

The Wolves will play in a semi-final game Friday evening against Keyano College from Fort McMurray.

Keyano beat Ambrose University from Calgary 3-0 Thursday afternoon.

Both the men’s and women’s teams have also picked up some accolades.

Jeremy Kriletich has been named to the North All-Conference team.

Coach Lindsey Habib is the North Conference Coach of the Year.

The Wolves women’s team has also picked up some honours.

Helaina Zeyha has been named to the North All-Conference team. She was also named to the team last year.

 Gillian Head is the North Conference Rookie of the Year.
