GPFFA reminds residents to keep hydrants accessible
Mar 5, 2026 | 6:00 AM
With another big snow dump hitting the City, the Grande Prairie Fire Fighters Association is reminding residents to make sure their nearest fire hydrants remain accessible.
The GPFFA says ensuring that the hydrant closet to your house is accessible by a three-foot path “could make the difference that saves your home from a fire.”
This reminder comes as the Peace region has been seeing increased amounts of snow for this time of year; surpassing a daily snowfall record for Mar. 2, as Grande Prairie saw 8.6 cms on Monday.
