GP Grows: Early Sprouts extended due to community “popularity”

The City of Grande Prairie has extended the GP Grows: Early Sprouts program till Friday, Mar. 13.

According to the City, Early Sprouts was well received by residents, leading to the decision to continue the program until Friday.

They do ask residents only take what they need, as seeds are available while supplies last.

As part of this program, residents can visit the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion at Muskoseepi Park and pick between five “easy-to-grow” seed packs that can be started indoors and transplanted later in the spring; tomatoes, peppers, herbs, flowers and broccoli.

Mayor Jackie Clayton says this new program sets residents up for an “easy and fun way to start growing at home,” and thanked the public for its “strong community response.”
