Grande Prairie Airport CEO Grant retires, search for replacement underway

Mar 18, 2026 | 6:00 AM

Grande Prairie Airport CEO Brian Grant has retired, and the search for his replacement is underway.

A post on the Grande Prairie Airport’s social media page says Grant worked in the aviation business for 42 years.

The post says his first job was as an equipment operator, later leading the transition of the airport from one controlled by the federal government to one controlled by the city, then run by an independent airport commission.

Grant currently serves as a County of Grande Prairie Councillor for Division 6.

At Monday’s meeting of Grande Prairie City Council, Airport Commission member and Councillor Grant Berg said interviews with potential replacements will take place “in the coming weeks.”
