Storm open playoffs with overtime win

The Grande Prairie Storm grabbed a 3-2 win over visiting Lloydminster in Game 1 of their Alberta Junior Hockey League playoff series.

A goal from Zachary Wilson at 13:18 of the first overtime period clinched the victory.

The Bobcats led the game 2-1 until Max Leduc tied the contest with a goal at 18:53 of the third period.

Colin Doherty had the other Grande Prairie goal. Leland Gill made 40 saves in the Storm net.

Gus El-Tahhan and Kade Fendelet scored the Lloydminster goals.

The announced attendance was 1791.

Game 2 will be played Saturday night in Grande Prairie. Face-off time will be 6 p.m.
