Fairview Falcons win U1 B Female provincial title on home ice

A Fairview team won a provincial hockey title on home ice over the weekend.

The Falcons captured the U18 Female B title with a 3-0 win over Battle River in the gold medal game played Sunday, Mar. 22 at the Fairview FairPlex.

Toni-Anne Welles made 22 saves for the shutout. Kylie Friesen, Kamryn Bissell and Meta Gardecki scored the Falcons’ goals.

The Falcons also beat Grande Prairie 4-3 in the semi-finals.

An email from an organizer and one of the players’ moms to EverythingGP says the team “played so well and with so much heart to capture the gold on home ice.”

Besides Fairview, the Falcons also include players from Spirit River, Manning, Peace River, Grimshaw and High Level.
