Regional Fire Service and Enforcement members honoured at annual graduation and awards ceremony

Members of the County of Grande Prairie’s Regional Fire and Enforcement Services were celebrated for their dedication, service, and achievements at an annual graduation and service awards ceremony on Friday night (March 20).

There were 67 people recognized during the ceremony: 51 members for career milestones and 16 recruits who marked the completion of fire service training. Long-serving members were also honoured for their leadership, professionalism, and peer-nominated success.

County Deputy Reeve Bob Chrenek administered the oath of service for the new fire service recruits.

Chrenek said in a new release that, “Our emergency responders answer the call when it matters most to our communities.”

Fire Chief Trevor Grant said in the same release, “These members set a high standard through their training, teamwork, and service to others. We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful for the role they play in keeping our communities safe.”
