UPDATE: Highway 40 south of GP reopen

UPDATE:

511 Alberta says Highway 40 has now fully reopened after all vehicles were cleared.

Residents are asked to use caution today if on the roads, and stay up to date with current road conditions using 511 Alberta.

Callers to the EverythingGP newsroom are reporting that Highway 40 south of Grande Prairie has closed all southbound lanes.

A caller to the EverythingGP Newsroom reported a multi-vehicle collision involving semis and vehicles of all makes and models, near 60 Avenue and Township Road 704A, causing delays.

The caller said the crash has led to a closure of all southbound lanes, and drivers are now being rerouted at the top of Wapiti Hill; however, they did note that northbound traffic is still flowing.

Anyone on the road today is asked to use caution, and can find up-to-date conditions on 511 Alberta.
