Mar 26, 2026 | 8:47 AM

Round 1 of playoffs belongs to the Grande Prairie Storm after beating the Lloydminster Bobcats in just four games.

Wednesday’s Game 4 saw the Storm score two power play goals and an empty netter to complete the sweep of the Bobcats with a final score of 5-3.

Storm goalie Leland Gill was the Visiting Team Star of the Game with an impressive 34 saves on the night.

Grande Prairie is first team to advance to the second round of playoffs this season.

The Storm now await their next match-up, which could be either the Fort McMurrary Oil Barons or Whitecourt Wolverines. That series is in the Wolverines hands, as they are up 3-1 heading into Game 5 on Friday (March 27).

Home game times for Round 2 will be released by the Storm once their next opponent is decided.
