Mar 27, 2026 | 6:00 AM

Grande Prairie Storm forward Zachary Wilson was honoured as the 2025/2026 AJHL Most Dedicated Player and was presented with the Don McNabb Memorial Trophy.

This honour is voted on by coaches and general managers from across the league and given to the player most dedicated to his team, with Wilson being a finalist last season.

Wilson, who has been with the Storm his entire Junior hockey career, is now being recognized as he enters his third playoff run as an Assistant Captain.

Storm GM Mark Bomersback says Wilson “represents everything this organization values.”

“His work ethic, leadership, and commitment to improving every day set the standard for our locker room, alongside our other veteran players. Whether in practice or on game night, he brought a consistent level of intensity and professionalism. This recognition reflects the respect he has earned from his teammates, coaches, and the entire League. He plays the game hard and the right way.”

During his tenure, Wilson has suited up for the Storm 162 times and counting, adding 57 goals for 110 points and 278 penalty minutes.

Next season, he will be moving on to Niagara University, with fellow Storm Assistant Captain Chase Christensen.

Bomersback gave his congratulations to Wilson for receiving this award, adding, “the Grande Prairie Storm could not be prouder of you.”

The Storm are now fresh off a first-round sweep of Lloyd and now await the Fort Mac-Whitecourt winner, as the Wolverines lead that series 3-1 heading into game 5 Friday night (Mar. 27) in Whitecourt.
