A deal in the energy business will see Tenaris acquire the oilfield division of Red Deer-based AllTorque.

A release from Tenaris describes AllTorque as a “leading original equipment manufacturer known for its sophisticated tubular running technology.”

“This acquisition marks another important step in Tenaris’s ongoing commitment to Canada and further extends our differentiation as the country’s leading OCTG manufacturer,” says Tenaris Canada president Milton Castro in that same release.

The release also says this deal “builds on an existing collaboration between the two companies.”

Tenaris makes steel pipes in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and has service centres in Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, and Edmonton. The company says it employs 1,200 people across Canada.
