Temporary service disruption at Fairview ED

Alberta Health Services says a physician shortage has led to a temporary disruption at Fairview Health Complex’s Emergency Department.

The ED in Fairview will be without an on-site doctor from Saturday, April 4, at 3:00 p.m. to Sunday, April 5, at 7:00 a.m.

Nursing staff will remain on site during the temporary service outage to provide triage, assessments, and/or referrals to alternate healthcare facilities.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, 911 is still available to the community and will be rerouted to a neighbouring emergency department.

AHS wants to remind residents that Health Link can be reached 27/4 by calling 811 for non-emergency health-related questions.

If coverage is found, this disruption may be cancelled.
