Public member positions open for Grande Prairie Police Commission
Those interested in making sure Grande Prairie is a thriving, safe, and vibrant community for the foreseeable future are being invited to apply to be on the City of Grande Prairie’s Police Commission.
The City is looking for public members to be recruited to be appointed for two or three-year terms, with possibility to renew for a maximum of a decade.
The Police Commission is a standalone, independent oversight body that oversees the Grande Prairie Police Municipal Service and makes sure ethical policing is happening within itself.
Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a news release that the commission plays an essential role in providing oversight of policing in our community since 2023.
