Arrest made in 2023 Grande Cache Homicide

An arrest has been made in a 2023 homicide in Grande Cache.

On Feb. 21, 2023, Grande Cache RCMP received connected calls about a deceased male located in the driveway of a residence and a burning vehicle outside of town.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and, after an extended process, made an arrest on Feb. 18, 2026.

40-year-old Winnipeg resident Code Ouellette has been charged with the first-degree murder of 52-year-old Drumheller resident Robert Zibauer.

Ouellette was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Cache Apr. 16.
