Grande Prairie Friendship Centre hosting its biggest fund raiser Saturday

The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre will hold what it calls its “most significant fundraiser” Saturday.

The 5th Annual Grande Gathering Gala will be held at the Bonnetts Energy Centre.

A release from the centre says it will be “a spectacular evening celebrating our community and Indigenous culture, strength, and resiliency.”

 “The fifth anniversary of the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre Gala is a meaningful milestone that reflects our ongoing commitment to uplifting Indigenous peoples, strengthening cultural connections, and supporting resilient communities. This year’s Gala will not only highlight the importance of our work but also celebrate the strength and beauty of Indigenous culture through fine dining and exceptional entertainment,” says Friendship Centre president and gala chair Lois Duke in that same release.

That same release says that “the gala provides critical support for continuing and building programs in education, mental health, wellness, cultural preservation, and social services in the region.”
